Across it, forms in \u003cstrong\u003ebrass and burnt ochre\u003c\/strong\u003e spread in irregular, vertical drifts — dense and almost molten in places, elsewhere thinning into scattered specks, as though metal had oxidised across stone and eaten into it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAround those forms sits a second layer in \u003cstrong\u003ecream and pale ivory\u003c\/strong\u003e, which softens the edges and keeps the gold from reading as hard-edged graphic shapes. Beneath both lies a shadow drawing in \u003cstrong\u003eslate and steel grey\u003c\/strong\u003e, which gives the composition its depth. Set into it, sparingly: patches of \u003cstrong\u003esoft olive green\u003c\/strong\u003e and, at a few points, a barely-there \u003cstrong\u003elilac\u003c\/strong\u003e.
