Herleen — A Djoharian Design Line

The Herleen line is a Djoharian Design original, hand-knotted in India. Its surface is an abstract, horizontally drawn composition — an eroded, weathered pattern of broken striations rather than a repeating motif. The ground is built from undyed natural wool in several shades of grey, from pale ash to deep taupe, while the golden accents are viscose, hand-spun like the wool, catching light against the matte wool and giving the piece its quiet luminosity.

Because the greys are the wool's own natural colours rather than dyes, no two areas are identical — the tonal drift across the surface is a property of the fibre itself. The result is a contemporary designer rug that reads as a textile landscape: structural, tactile, and calm, with the gold viscose providing the one note of brightness.

Contemporary living room: Beneath a sectional or sofa pairing, the wool-and-viscose surface establishes a quiet, modern foundation — the viscose catches light, the wool holds it.
