The smallest format we carry, and the one where the finest work sits. At this size a weaver can spend months on a single piece, so this is where silk from Qum, Isfahan and Hereke appears — knotted at densities that would be unaffordable in a room size.
On the floor these are pieces for a specific spot: beside a bed, in front of an armchair, at a threshold. Many of them, though, are better on a wall. Fine silk keeps its lustre indefinitely when it is not walked on, and the pattern is seen from the angle it was drawn for.
