In the Djoharian Collection we present this hand-knotted Qum (Ghom / Qom) runner as an exclusive interior highlight. The fine dark blue central medallion sits harmoniously embedded in a luminous field of rust red, run through without a gap by elegantly curving flowering vines and floral bouquets. A delicate olive-green framing border sets off the warm red main field perfectly and underlines the exceptional symmetry of this fine oriental rug.

Material and Weave

For the dense, low pile the weavers used first-class cork wool throughout — the noble, especially shear-resistant lamb's wool. The very finely spun yarn allows the master knotters to achieve a razor-sharp drawing of every ornament on a pure cotton warp. As this rug is entirely new and unused, the natural fibre retains its soft handle and its full colour brilliance.

Presence in the Room

At a gallery size of 140 × 49 cm (0.69 m²) the piece answers the widely searched standard format of 50 × 140 cm. Thanks to the elongated shape it works beautifully as:

• Hallway and entrance: a representative accent where a fine rug is seen at close range every day.
• Bedroom: luxurious warmth alongside the bed as a bedside runner.

Care and Everyday Use

This wool rug is naturally dirt-repellent and uncomplicated to care for — regular vacuuming in the direction of the pile is entirely sufficient.
