A rug is considered antique when it is more than 100 years old. This example, dating to the turn of the twentieth century, is a pre-owned piece already in its second life, with a depth of patina that only a century of use can give. It is offered in good condition, freshly washed and restored.
Design & Origin — The Ahmad Workshop
Woven in the “Ahmad” workshop in Isfahan, Iran, this rug shows a classic, timeless pattern. A detailed field of floral arabesques is framed by elegant borders, and the harmonious palette of beige, red, rose and blue underlines the character of this one-of-a-kind piece. Isfahan has been one of the great centres of Persian weaving for centuries, and this antique example belongs to that tradition.
Wool & Craftsmanship
The rug combines traditional materials for longevity and a pleasant hand: a pile of wool over a hard-wearing cotton foundation. The pile is thinly knotted at roughly 0.5 cm, giving a robust structure that remains comfortable underfoot — typical of a city rug.
Colour
A soft beige ground sets off the dense floral drawing, with accents of red, rose and blue running through the field and borders. The colours have mellowed over more than a century, giving the rug a warm depth that pairs well with both classic and contemporary interiors.

At 140 x 212 cm (2.97 m²) this is a versatile medium-size rug — a 5 x 7 ft format:
