This Özipek Hereke silk rug brings detailed floral drawing into a small, clearly defined format. Hand-knotted in Hereke, Turkey, it measures 76 × 100 cm — approximately 2.5 × 3.3 ft / 29.9 × 39.4 inches, excluding the short kilim ends and fringes. The piece is new and unused.
Red medallion field and fine floral detail
A dark central medallion sits within a warm brown-red field, surrounded by fine flowering stems and arabesques. Gold and beige details contrast with the dark border and outlines. A woven signature cartouche appears in the end border. The small scale makes the drawing easy to appreciate at close range, particularly when displayed as a wall hanging.
Natural silk, hand-knotted by Özipek
The pile and warp are natural silk. The stated knot density is approximately 1,000,000 knots per m² — about 645 knots per square inch (kpsi). The finely sheared pile is approximately 2–3 mm high. Natural silk reflects light differently along and against the pile; the rug can therefore look lighter or darker according to viewing direction.

Display and care
This small silk rug can be displayed on a wall or placed in a quiet area with light use. It is better suited to close viewing than to a busy entrance or the space beneath dining chairs. On a smooth floor, use a suitable rug pad compatible with the flooring. For wall display, we mount the rug on a batten for you, so it can be hung and taken down easily.
Vacuum gently with reduced suction and no rotating brush. Blot spills promptly without rubbing or saturating the silk. Leave washing and stain treatment to a specialist familiar with silk rugs; do not machine-wash. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.
