Interlocking blocks in gold, bronze and concrete grey give Cubism a clear architectural rhythm. Hand-knotted natural silk brings depth and a sheen that changes with the light to the geometric design.
The Cubism Design
Cubism is part of our own Djoharian Design line and is hand-knotted to order in Nepal. The design works with flat, interlocking planes rather than ornament: warm metallic tones against a cool grey, arranged so that the rug reads differently from every side of the room. Material and Quality
The pile is 100 % natural silk (Chinese silk), hand-knotted with the Tibetan knot on a cotton foundation. At about 150 kpsi the edges between the blocks stay sharp, and the silk gives each plane its own sheen depending on the direction of the pile.
Sizes and Lead Time
Cubism is made to order in seven standard sizes: 90 × 150 cm (3.0 × 4.9 ft), 120 × 180 cm (3.9 × 5.9 ft), 140 × 200 cm (4.6 × 6.6 ft), 170 × 240 cm (5.6 × 7.9 ft), 200 × 250 cm (6.6 × 8.2 ft), 200 × 300 cm (6.6 × 9.8 ft), 250 × 300 cm (8.2 × 9.8 ft).
