Fine silk rugs and small, detailed pieces are often hung rather than laid, where their drawing can be seen at eye level and the pile is not worn. In Persian households this has a long tradition, particularly for pictorial and signed workshop pieces.
Hang a rug only from a fixing that spreads its weight across the full width, never with nails or staples through the weave, and keep it out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. We mount the rug on a batten for you, so it can be hung and taken down easily.
